UV Indicator!

What is up People! Today we did something called UV Indicator! A UV Indicator tells you what the temperature is. Like how high the temperature is or how low the temperature is! I will be telling you the rest of the information underneath this text in a screencastify video!

My Screencastify Video would not upload so I had to put it on a Google Slide. I really hate hearing myself in a Screencastify Video because sometimes I start shaking and get really nervous but I wanted to do it so that the people who don't really like to read can watch the video of why we did this and other things.

I would like to tell you guys some sad news that is going to on on Friday 1st January 2021 I might not be doing the Summer Learning Journey on the Friday 1st January 2021 because we are going to Lake Tekapo, then we are going to Mt Cook, after Mt Cook, we are going to Wanaka. We are packing all our stuff today to get ready. I might be able to sneak my chromebook in so I can keep track of the Summer Learning Journey.

Anyway, let me show you my UV Indicator Google Drawing!

The picture is pretty big so that you guys can read all the writing that it has! How would you create your Uv Indicator? Please reply to me! I hope you guys have a awesome morning, afternoon, or night! Bye!

Until now, Peace Out! ^_^

It’s Shannon again from the Summer Learning Journey.

Your portable UV indicator is awesome and would be great to hang on your fridge so your family know when to ‘slip, slop, slap’! It was such a good idea to use a google drawing when the video would not work.

Ka pai for all your great blogging Nishka and enjoy your holiday away. The SLJ will still be there when you get back and you can continue then.

    Ka kite anō,
    Shannon (SLJ)

    1. Hi Shannon,

Thank you for commenting on my blog post! This was a great pleasure from you! I would also recommend your idea of hanging it on the fridge but I don't really have enough room so what I would do is get a piece of some rope, tape it to a wall and hang my UV Indicator!

I am allowed to take my chromebook to the hotels we are staying at so I can continue my Summer Learning Journey there. I also might be able to make some videos of my in the hotels in am staying at!

If you made a UV Indicator, how would you design it and what colours would you use? Please reply back to me! I would love to here your reply when you have the time!

(Keep forgetting to click the 'Reply' Button) Until next time,

    2. Hi Nishka,

Hanging it on the wall is also a great idea! Which room would you put it in?

That's awesome! I look forward to seeing your future posts! Where are you going on holiday? What things are you going to do?

I think mine would be a similar design to yours, but I might use warm colours like red, orange and yellow.

      Bye for now,
      Shannon (SLJ)

    3. Hi Shannon,

Thanks for replying back to me! I would hang my UV Indicator in the kitchen/living room! For holiday, I am going to Lake Tekapo, Mount Cook and Wanaka to see the puzzling world since I forgot what it looks like.

Please reply back to me when you have the time! Bye! I will see you in the hotels!

    4. You're off to Puzzle World! I love that place! Make sure you take lots of cool pictures, maybe you could upload some to your blog!

Are you going to walk any tracks in Mt Cook? I recently went there with my friends and we walked Hooker Trail to see a glacier! It was awesome!

      Bye for now,
      Shannon

    5. Hi Shannon,

I did really go to puzzle world! It was super duper fun! The only problem was that the internet could not connect. When did you go to Puzzling World?

We did walk on one track and it was very long that Mum, Dad, and I got so exhausted! When will you go back to Mount Cook to walk on some more tracks?

      See ya later! Bye Shannon!

    6. Hi Nishka,

That's a shame about the internet, but I'm sure it was a blast nonetheless!

I went to puzzling world ages ago! I have actually been meaning to go again because I loved it so much!

I don't know when I'll go back, but hopefully soon! I went with a couple of friends, so I might have to pull them into an adventure! When will you go back?

Also I'm so impressed by all of your recent blog posts! You're awesome!

      Bye for now,
      Shannon (SLJ)

    7. Hi Shannon,

It is a wonderful and kind of you to reply back to me! I actually don't know when to go back to Puzzling World but I am thinking maybe on Christmas this year!

Thank you for calling me awesome by the way! I appreciate it. What is your favourite room in Puzzling World? Mine in the Tilted Room. It is so fun when the room is Tilted! I couldn't even walk properly!

      See you very soon!

    8. Hi Nishka,

I love the tilted room too, it was so tricky to walk through! I was super confused!

I also really loved the maze! It was so much fun but I got so lost!

How're you finding the Summer Learning Journey?

      Bye for now,

    9. Hi Shannon,

Thanks for replying to me! I knew that you would get the opportunity to reply to me! I'm finding the Summer Learning Journey fun! It is a great way to try new things!

The maze in Puzzling World is really complicated but really fun! It was really hard for me to find all the colours! I only found Red, Yellow, and Green. It was really hard finding Blue!

How is it like working with the Summer Learning Journey Team? Reply Soon!

    10. Hi Nishka,

I really like working with the Summer Learning Journey team! Everyone is so nice, and kind! We get along swimmingly! I also get to do cool things! Today, I wrote a code. I used the Caesar cipher, can you crack it: VXPPHU DHDUQLQJ MRXUQHB.

      Bye for now,

    11. Hi Shannon,

This code is really hard to crack! I also wanted to say thanks for replying to me! Anyway, back to the topic, the code is really hard to crack my mum can't even crack the code! You really are intelligent and really smart!

It's good to hear that you are having fun working with the Summer Learning Journey Team! I also read that you get to do cool things! What cool things do you normally do with the Summer Learning Team?

      Please reply soon!

    12. Hi Nishka,

The code moves every letter in the alphabet across 3, so 'A' becomes 'D'.

We normally have big zoom calls and meetings where we can go to Auckland! It's lots of fun and I learn so much!

      Good luck,
      Shannon (SLJ)

    13. Hi Shannon,

Thanks for replying to me! This code is a struggle! You are really smart! How did you learn all this?! I am just so shocked!

You can go to Auckland!? It is so much fun there! I remember we went there when the earthquake happened.

Hope you reply to me soon!

    14. Hi Nishka,

Would you like me to tell you what is says?

I learnt it from the activity page on the Manaiakalani website! If you look at the Caesar cipher, it should help!

Yeah, last year I went to Auckland to get trained! Oh my goodness, did you! That would've been scary!

      Bye for now,

    15. Hi Shannon,

Thanks for replying! Yes the earthquake did happen and it happened when I was a baby! I can't remember much about the earthquake. I think your code says this! I don't really know what it means but I think this is write! Please tell me if it is!

      Detected Code: Oqiian Wawnjejc Fkqnjau

I hope you have a wonderful day! Please reply to me!

    17. Hi Nishka,

Sorry I think I've led you astray, so in the code, a D will actually be an A! Have a go with that hint, and see if you can solve it!

Bye for now and hope you're having a great summer!
