Week 2 Summer Learning Day 5

Activity 1

I think this is a fair rule ,and yes people should be charged for over fishing.It is fair because we should leave some fish in the area, so that they can breed and we can have more fish in the rivers and the ocean and it is also good for our eco system as tyhe fish cleans the rivers form the algae.

Things that have been  done to improve water pollution

The government has urged people to :

1. conserve water - don't waste water in the bathroom and garden

2. dont't wash cars on driveways

3. don't wash away the concrete from the driveway into the drains.

4. don't use too much fertiliser and pesticides in the garden which can be swept away ion the rivers.

5. try and do organic gardening

6. please don't litter , use the bins provided for the rubbish.


Activity 3

 Fundraising to do in New Zealand to protect the great barrier reef

1.We can create a web page and request for peoples small contribution towards the awareness

2. we can organise a marathon for the great course

3. We can hold small baking fundraiser at schools to create awareness

4. We can create posters, editable posters and colouring posters and sell them online and in schools and shops

Week 2 Summer Learning Day 4

Activity 1

I would like to explore Milford Sound by  a helicopter tour.The reason why I have chosen the helicopter is ,because it is the safest and quickest option, where I will be able to get a good view of everything from the top and also I will be able to take a lot of pictures.

I choose the first picture. I think the people in the picture are in a stadium. They are all from the same team, (probably basketball).They all seem to be very happy and having fun. I think that they have just won the competition against their opponents. They all are taking a selfie with their coach.It seems that they all have been awarded with a medal after the match.I think that it is a happy ending for the game for the team and they all want to take selfies for their remembrance as they seem to have won the competition.

Week 2 Summer Learning Day 3

Activity 1 Night owls

I am an early riser and so is the rest of my family. My dad wakes up really early because he has to go to work. I wake up at 6:00 am to get ready for school. My mum prepares our breakfast and lunch before she drops me to school.


 Activity 2 A Local Delicacy

My favourite pizza is Cheese Pizza from Pizza Hut and how to make it is some cheese for the topping and some pizza dough, also you need some tomato sauce. You need to roll the dough and then flatten it, then you need to put some tomato sauce on top of it then after you need to sprinkle the cheese on top and the put it in the oven for 20 or 15 minutes.

These are the number of adults that will be required to move the giant squid
495kg divide by 25kg equals to 19.8
that means that it will require 20 adults to move the giant squid from one place another

THese are the number of children that will be required to move the giant squid
495kg divide by 15kg equals to 33
That means that it will require 33 kids in total to move the giant squid from point A to B

If the kids and adults are rquired to move the gianr squid together from point A to B
then the equation will be like this
425kg / 25kg = 17 adults
75kg / 15kg = 5 kids

I would like to give it a go, it looks a bit confusing but I will try my best to follow the pattern step by step. It looks challenging to me.

My favourite summer activity is playing on my swing , I can do so many things like high swinging, jumping, standing swinging and it makes me feel like I am flying in the sky.

Chocolate Cupcakes

• 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
• 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
• 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
• 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
• 3/4 teaspoon teaspoon salt
• 2 large eggs
• 3/4 cup buttermilk
• 3/4 cup cups warm water
• 1/4 cup vegetable oil
• 1 tsp vanilla extract

Chocolate Buttercream

• 1½ cups butter softened
• 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 3-4 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

• Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners. Recipe makes 24 cupcakes so you may have to cook it in batches unless you have two muffin tins.
• Mix together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a stand mixer using a low speed until combined.
• Add eggs, buttermilk, warm water, oil, and vanilla. Beat on a medium speed until smooth. This should take just a couple of minutes. Scrape the sides and bottom of the mixing bowl to make sure everything got mixed in.
• Fill each cupcake 2/3 full.
• Bake for 20-22 minutes until the cupcakes meet the toothpick test (stick a toothpick in and it comes out clean). Remove from tins and cool completely.
• Make the frosting by In a large bowl, beat butter until fluffy using a hand mixer. Add in cocoa powder and vanilla extract. Beat until combined. Beat in powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time, beating in between.
• Transfer frosting to a piping bag and pipe onto completely cooled cupcakes.

Dear Ice Skating classes

Ki-ora,  my name is  Nishka and I am writing a letter to you guys. You guys are the best and I like how you teach people Ice Skating. You make everybody happy, everybody will always go there for you. Everyone will hug you and say you are awesome! I like your ice but one little problem, your ice is a little cold! That's okay though. Anyway, you guys are the best ice skating teachers ever! I wish you guys could teach us forever and stay forever but you can’t that much. I always wanted to come with you. I have always wanted to stay with you so much so I could skate there forever! You guys are cool also amazing. I wanted to cuddle everybody at ice skating.

My favourite part of ice skating was the shop where I went to buy my ice skating shoes. We enjoyed going to the cafe, we ate a lot of stuff at your cafe. I like having lots and lots of fun at you ice skating place. You could make it better by putting a heat pump in the lessons and you could put one it the toilets to. I like everything at your ice skating classes. If I was a teacher like you guys, I would teach everyone all the best jumps and all the tricks. I hope you guys have a lot of fun at ice skating class with all your classes, I hope they have fun to.
